Young People

We support autistic children (7-17) by hosting various social groups including after-school clubs and holiday activities.

We also run Responsive Communication sessions for young people and their parents/carers to help people communicate without spoken language.

After-School Clubs

We run a term time after-school youth club in Barrow-in-Furness led by experienced facilitators and volunteers. Our club is very popular so please contact us by emailing info@autuscumbria.co.uk to find out when free spaces are available. See below for details.

Holiday Activities

Our Summer Activities programme is now available to view here.

We offer holiday activities throughout the year for autistic children and young people. These are advertised on our website and social media pages throughout the year. Most sessions last up to two hours with some of our activities lasting for a half or full day. Activities range from baking, den making, sensory activities, crafts, and workshops. We also work with partners such as Wellness at Green AcresSignal Film & Media, and Theatre Factory.

There is a small charge for each session but we are able to keep the costs low thanks to our funders. There are a limited of places on each session so we do ask that you book in advance. Full details will be given when we advertise the sessions for an upcoming holiday. If this is your first time attending an Autus Cumbria activity we will contact you prior to the start date so we can learn more about the participants' needs.
