We are recruiting an autism practitioner/youth worker! We have been getting lots of requests for support and are really pleased to have secured funding to recruit another autism practitioner to join our team.

Autus Cumbria is seeking a talented new Autism Practitioner / Youth Worker to join our small but highly motivated team based in Barrow, Cumbria. The role will involve one-to-one work with autistic young people aged 10 - 19 years as part of a Targeted Youth Outreach Programme for young people who have increased vulnerability to poor mental wellbeing due to the COVID pandemic.

You will also be responsible for co-ordinating our youth groups, and play a role in work on development of services involving preparing funding applications, managing projects and expanding our training offer.

In the run up to Christmas we've started planning for our activities next year. We rely on funding and donations to keep our clubs and activities running and this year some of the events that would usually help us haven't happened. We're asking autistic adults, their family members and professionals who work with them to complete our survey. NEW MEMBER OF THE TEAM        2 Aug 2020

We’d like to introduce you to Caroline, the newest member of our team. Caroline will be working with us to provide a coaching service for adults (18+) with ASC. The sessions will be led by the individual, but we hope that we can help people with a range of issues such as health and wellbeing, self-care, social interaction and employment skills.

NEW ONLINE GROUP                        1 AUG 2020

We've started an online social group for over 25's with autism. This is a trial period and if it's successful hopefully we'll be able to meet in person but only when it's safe to do so. So if you are over 25 and would like more information please message us or email us on info@autuscumbria.co.uk
